No offense to barns- it’s just not our cup of tea (and any barn vendor friends- we love you!)

After I became a wedding photographer in WV, I was introduced to more amazing venues than I thought was out there. So naturally I had to share it with all of you rad humans who are in the planning stages and might be feeling overwhelmed- there’s a f*ck ton of options out there (but also like not enough at the same time? lol)

1. The Hotel Morgan

Why we love it: it’s classic, modern, and has everything you need on site. The vibes are immaculate and it’s a built in rain plan.

Why we love it: It’s hip, it has a fun story, and it’s hella relaxed. Folks in Charleston love how accessible this spot is.

Why we love it: It low key has those PNW vibes but only 45 minutes from Morgantown.

  • Located: Deep Creek, MD (I know, I know. It’s not in West Virginia but hella close and the property is SO fun, I had to include it on my list of venues in WV)

4. Heigh Garden

Why we love it: It’s in Charleston, so we’d be home in time to tuck our kiddo into bed. Oh why you’d love it? It’s cute, it’s modern, and it’s a chic vibe close to the airport.

  • Cost:

    • Guest capacity: 200ALL EVENTS INCLUDE:

      • Exclusive access to the 2,860 square foot sailcloth tent that is thoroughly heated and air-conditioned and has removable side walls

5. The Gaines Estate

Why we love it: Only an hour from Charleston, and right downtown in Fayetteville so your guests can spend a weekend or the week exploring New River Gorge, the newest national park. It kind of checks all the boxes- it’s a bit outdoorsy, has a rain plan, has good natural light, and a covered reception space if that’s your vibe. It’s convenient and cute.

  • Located: Fayetteville, West Virginia

  • Cost: Unknown

  • Guest capacity: IDK prob 150-200 if I had to guess.

  • Catering: They collaborate with Dobra Zupas to provide a comprehensive catering service, featuring various packages such as custom buffets, appetizer stations, and dessert options, all inclusive of catering staff and dinnerware. Groups can opt for an external caterer with access to our commercial kitchen for prep services, accommodating up to 250 guests.
