A secret elopement in Ireland

Back in June, we hopped over to the land of Guinness and unpredictable weather for a secret elopement with our new friends Courtney and Dakota. Granted- it’s not a secret anymore since I’m blogging about it but it was on the hush hush while we were there. Now that C+D have shared their news publicly, I am so STOKED to share this preview gallery with the world.

Fun fact, I shot Anne’s (see MoH below) wedding back in 2021 when I was 8.5 months pregnant. I have a lovely photo somewhere and me and my big ass belly scarfing down a plate of chicken nuggets, while also bringing Anne her mid-day nuggie snack. Maybe I’ll go look for it and share it here when I find it lol. Anyways, I met the crew at their Airbnb to snap some photos of Courtney getting ready.

I love trying new things so when the couple said they wanted to do a first look, I suggested meeting Dakota at a local pub and going for something really casual (v much Dakota’s style.)

When I helped C+D plan their elopement, I scoured the internet and Google Earth, asked friends of friends who live nearby, and basically just cyber stalked elopement spots within an hour’s drive of Dublin. After a lengthy google doc outline multiple location options, timelines, etc., the couple chose an abandoned castle out in County Wicklow. And after having the place basically to ourselves, I am SO glad they went this route instead of the super touristy cliffs out west.

After the ceremony, we hopped back in our cars and headed to the mountains for a picnic at sunset.

The morning of this elopement, Courtney and I joked about her parking angel and my weather angel, but neither of us accounted for an Ireland rainbow angel (scroll to see the elopement gods blessing us too much in one day).

Ireland was a dream, let’s go back.
