A private and cold elopement at Dolly Sods in October.

I remember our discovery call with Lilly and Jarrod before they booked us for their elopement. They shared how they had been planning a wedding in Bali but a worldwide pandemic sort of halted that. When things started to calm down, several logistics had changed for their guests and venue, so an International wedding didn’t make sense for them anymore. They started exploring east coast locations to elope and landed on West Virginia. We were stoked to share our beautiful mountain state with these to Michiganders.

A quick fun story before their beautiful fall elopement gallery at Dolly Sods. When L+J made it to our neck of the woods, a wild cold front had moved in. Their elopement day called for 28 degrees and a wind chill like you wouldn’t believe. Due to all of our schedules, we had to make it work (we love when Mother Nature has her own plans on elopement days!) This one one of the coldest, if not THE coldest elopements we have ever worked. It was a shorter day, only 2 hours, but in those 2 hours we had to go warm up in the car three times. Our hands were numb, the wind was not kind, but man was it unforgettable.
